We publish independent, practitioner-led software content for business owners, marketers, and developers. If you have real-world experience with the tools you cover, we want to hear from you — and we're actively building our contributor community from the ground up.
SoftwareAdvisorHub is a software review publication built on hands-on testing and real-world experience. We don't publish generic "10 Best Tools" listicles written by freelance generalists. Every contributor must have genuine, verifiable experience using the software they write about. As a new publication, early contributors get prominent placement, author pages from day one, and the chance to shape our editorial direction.
SEO managers, email marketers, content strategists, and paid media specialists who actively use martech tools in their day job and can write from a boots-on-the-ground perspective.

Our editorial bar is high because our readers depend on us for honest, experienced guidance. Here's exactly what earns a yes and what gets declined.
All submissions must meet the following standards before we consider publication. Read these carefully before pitching — they save everyone time.
We compensate contributors fairly and believe paying for quality work is the only way to attract genuine practitioners. As we grow, rates and benefits will increase. Here's what accepted contributors receive from day one.
Payment rate is confirmed before you begin writing, based on article length, depth, and category. Rates discussed on acceptance.
One permanent do-follow link in your author bio. No rel="nofollow" — your link passes full SEO equity.
A dedicated author page listing all your published articles, your bio, credentials, and social links.
Every published article is shared across our social channels and newsletter as our audience grows.
Accepted articles are featured in our newsletter with your byline and a link to your author profile.
All contributors receive a "Verified Practitioner" badge on their author profile, verified by our editorial team.
Payment is made via PayPal or bank transfer within 14 days of article publication. We do not pay kill fees for articles that don't meet our editorial standards after submission. We strongly recommend pitching your idea and getting editorial confirmation before writing the full article. Payment rates are agreed upfront before you start writing.
From first contact to published byline — here's what to expect when you pitch to SoftwareAdvisorHub.
Use the application form on this page to send us your pitch. Include your proposed topic, target keyword, brief outline (3–5 bullet points), and links to 2–3 previous writing samples in the same category. The more specific your pitch, the faster we can respond.
⏱ Takes ~10 minutesOur editorial team reviews your pitch and writing samples. We check for topic relevance, category fit, and whether we already have similar content. We respond to every pitch — even declined ones — within 7 business days.
⏱ 3–7 business daysIf your pitch is accepted, we send you a detailed editorial brief including the specific angle, required sections, target word count, and confirmed payment rate. We'll also let you know the target publication date.
⏱ Within 2 business days of acceptanceWrite your article following the brief and our style guidelines. Submit your draft as a Google Doc with commenting enabled. Include any screenshots, data sources, and a note on your testing methodology for the software you reviewed.
⏱ Typically 1–2 weeksOur editors review your draft for accuracy, completeness, tone, and adherence to the brief. We may request one round of revisions. We add internal links, SEO optimisation, and images during this stage — you don't need to handle those.
⏱ 5–10 business daysOnce approved, your article is published with your byline, author bio, and profile link. Payment is processed within 14 days of publication via your preferred method. We'll share the live URL and social promotion with you directly.
⏱ Payment within 14 days of going liveNo. We require genuine hands-on experience with every tool you write about. We verify this during our editorial review by checking for specificity, technical accuracy, and the kind of detail that only comes from real use. Articles that appear to be based on vendor marketing materials or surface-level research will be declined.
You may pitch a tool you have a financial interest in, but you must disclose this fully in your pitch email. We will evaluate whether the conflict of interest can be managed transparently (e.g. a prominent disclosure in the article). Undisclosed conflicts of interest will result in permanent removal from our contributor programme.
No. All submissions must be original and unpublished. We require a 6-month exclusivity window after publication — meaning you cannot republish the article elsewhere in substantially the same form for 6 months. After that, you retain ownership of your work and can use it elsewhere with attribution to SoftwareAdvisorHub.
You receive one do-follow link in your author bio only. You may not include links to your own website, employer's website, or client websites within the article body itself. All outbound links in the article body must go to authoritative third-party sources relevant to the content.
On average, 3–5 weeks from accepted pitch to live publication. This includes editorial review (7 days), brief confirmation (2 days), your writing time (1–2 weeks), and our editing round (5–10 days). We can sometimes expedite for timely topics — mention this in your pitch if relevant.
We do not pay kill fees for articles that don't meet our editorial standards after submission. This is why we strongly encourage pitching your idea first and getting written confirmation of acceptance before writing the full article. If your draft needs significant revision, we'll provide specific feedback and one opportunity to revise before making a final decision.
Yes — and we actively encourage it. As a new publication, we are especially keen to build long-term relationships with quality contributors. Regular contributors who maintain quality and meet deadlines are given priority for new topic slots and higher payment rates. After two accepted articles, you can apply for a retained contributor arrangement.
Currently, all content on SoftwareAdvisorHub is published in English only. We do accept pitches from non-native English speakers, but your submission must be in publication-ready English. If English is not your first language, we recommend working with a copy editor before submitting.
